This is that pass: a proofread and light copyedit that fixes errors and inconsistencies without touching your argument.
What I check: grammar, spelling, and punctuation; consistency of terminology, abbreviations, capitalization, hyphenation, numbers, and units; US or UK spelling applied consistently; and, in the top tier, headings, table and figure captions, and list numbering. Every change is tracked in Word, and anything unclear gets a query instead of a guess.
What this is not: a developmental or structural edit. I don't reorganize chapters, strengthen arguments, or rewrite paragraphs.
